Cinco Sentidos - La Colección Mixteca Edición 3 - Mexicanito 46.03% ABV

This batch of Mexicanito (likely a. Rhodcantha) was distilled in 2014 by Maestro Anatolio Ramirez. Anatolio harvested about 55 of the agaves from his son Aron's property, while Aron was living in the United States. He roasted the agaves in an underground oven for six days with oak and tepehuaje firewood and used palm leaves and palm mats to insulate the agave during the roast. Once the roast was complete, Anatolio, along with family and friends, manually crushed the agave with wooden mallets. After mashing, they allowed the resulting fiber to ferment with spring water for over a week. Upon the completion of fermentation, Anatolio distilled the mash in his hybrid still made of galvanized steel and a clay pot condenser. Approximately 400 liters produced; the 215 liters bottled for this collection were saved for Aron until he returned from the U.S. in late 2020. Bottled September 2022. 

"La Collecion Mixteca" is a curated selection of small-batch agave spirits crafted in the rustic distilleries of the mountainous Mixteca region of Oaxaca and Puebla. Each bottling explores the maestro mezcalero's interpretation of subjecting agave endemic to the region to peculiar production methods and styles that have largely fallen out of favor in modern times. A significant portion of sales from this collection will be used for palenque improvment projects.

• A damaged package request and picture evidence of damaged items must be made within 24 hours of receiving your ‘shipment delivered’ email notification.  Note that damaged products must be returned to us in order to receive a refund.
